As a school our mission is to encourage our children to achieve their maximum potential, whilst promoting high standards of behaviour, respect, moral values and self-esteem.

We believe this is achieved through a close and trusting relationship between home and school, working together at all times to promote the vision, aims and ethos of the school.

I have had the privilege to work as Headteacher here at the school for nearly five years and have enjoyed almost every minute! The children are at the core of the school – they are why we are all here working – and they are an absolute pleasure to work with. We have the benefit of a supportive community of staff, parents and governors who all work to provide the very best for the children at the school.

Through our website we want to give you some information about the life and work of our community – we want you to have a ‘taste’ of what we are about.

The website has created a great new link between our school and our parents. We now have ideal opportunities for parents and children to keep apace with current school events and to have useful day-to-day information available to them at the click of a button. The website is packed with useful things to read and to do. Whether you need to check the date of a forthcoming school event or would like support with your child’s homework, this website is the place for you. We will continue to use conventional methods of communication with parents, but see this website as an invaluable additional mailbox into your homes.

Obviously, this website will not have come together and be maintained without a huge amount of effort by all at Summerhill School, so may I thank them for their work and hope you enjoy your viewing of the website.
