Forest School takes place every Monday afternoon in Reception class. All children have the appropriate clothing which allows them to access the outdoors in all weathers.
They learn about the woodland environment, plants, animals and habitats. They are taught to use tools safely and regularly engage in woodland crafts. They are encouraged to help to prepare food for campfire cooking. But most importantly they learn about themselves, their strengths and how to become stronger and more resilient. They learn to cooperate, share and wok together taking risks and solving problems. These are skills that they will be able to take right through life.
